The Literacy Cooperative
Funded jointly by the Cleveland, George Gund, and Martha Holden Jennings foundations, the Literacy Cooperative is working to improve literacy levels among children, youth, and adults. The Cooperative focuses on five strategic areas:
- Creating a centralized information center and clearinghouse on literacy
- Establishing evaluation and quality assurance standards
- Ensuring that literacy providers have access to training, curriculum development, and technical assistance
- Identifying and securing public and private funding for literacy
- Heightening public awareness of literacy
