Major Capital Grants Program
Created in 2000, the Cleveland Foundation's Major Capital Grants Program has awarded $14.5 million to 25 projects in Greater Cleveland. Awards have ranged from $500,000 to $1 million, and have included support for a variety of agencies.
Please note that because of the current economic climate and a related increase in grant requests, the Major Capital Grants Program has been suspended for 2010. The Cleveland Foundation's board of directors will reconsider the program during its December 2010 meeting.
However, the foundation will still consider modest capital grant requests on a case-by-case basis. You may review our program guidelines, which list the criteria used to assess these requests. Please be aware that the Cleveland Foundation is now awarding capital grants only to organizations that adopt "green building" principles.
