  The Cleveland Foundation today announced that Stephen McPeake, president and chief executive officer of North Coast Community Homes, is the 2011 recipient of the Homer C. Wadsworth Award. The award is given annually to a local leader who has demonstrated creativity, innovation, ingenuity, risk-taking and good humor in a civic, volunteer, nonprofit or public sector role. McPeake has dedicated his life to improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and other disabilities.

• National Development Council honors Evergreen Cooperative Laundry

  The National Development Council, the oldest national nonprofit community development organization in the United States, has chosen Evergreen Cooperative Laundry in Glenville as one of the four best development projects in the country. The award was announced recently at the Council’s biennial conference in Washington.

• Cleveland Foundation to receive more than $12 million from Crawford estate

  The Cleveland Foundation will receive more than $12 million from the estate of Kathleen S. “Kay” Crawford to support the Crawford Auto Aviation Collection of the Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS). Crawford’s estate recently created the Frederick C. and Kathleen S. Crawford Fund of the Cleveland Foundation. The foundation expects to receive $12 million later this month, with additional money – between $2 million and $4 million – coming later as assets from the estate are sold.
