Northwest Emergency Team Fund Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship support for children of first responders (police officers, firefighters and paramedics) in the cities of Bay Village, North Olmsted, Westlake, Lakewood, Rocky River and Fairview Park. Applicants must be pursuing vocational or technical training or an undergraduate college degree at an accredited, nonprofit educational institution.

Eligibility:
• Graduating and graduated children of first responders (police officers, firefighters and paramedics) in the cities of Bay Village, North Olmsted, Westlake, Lakewood, Rocky River, and Fairview Park

• Enrolling/enrolled full-time at an accredited nonprofit educational institution

Selection Process: Scholarship awards are made on an evaluation of the student’s financial need, academic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and work experience. The student’s family is expected to contribute to his or her support.

Award Info: Award amounts and number of awards are based on the earnings of the fund and are determined by the selection committee. Awards will be for a minimum of $1,000. Formal notification of award will be made by College Now to the selected recipients. Awards will be paid directly to the institution and can be used toward tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for courses.

Awarded Student Requirements:
1. Maintain full-time enrollment status and progress toward degree or certification

2.Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA

Renewal: Scholarship has historically been renewable for a maximum of 4 total years, provided the student meets the scholarship requirements and funding remains available.
