CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Foundation today announced the appointment of Emily Garr Pacetti, Senior Principal at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, to its board of directors.

Pacetti succeeds longtime board member Carrie Carpenter, who concluded her decade of service in March.

“Emily brings outstanding expertise in community and economic development, paired with an unwavering commitment to driving meaningful change across Greater Cleveland,” said Lillian Kuri, president and CEO of the Cleveland Foundation. “Her leadership and perspective will be invaluable to our board as we deepen our work to serve and uplift every corner of our community.”

Pacetti has led high-level policy research and place-based economic development efforts throughout her career. In her current role at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, she supports regional economic growth through research, outreach, and strategic programming focused on lower-income communities.

Previously, she served as Associate Director for Inclusive Economies and Cities at The Rockefeller Foundation and as Director of Research and Evaluation at The Fund for Our Economic Future. Across all roles, Pacetti has worked to expand opportunities in historically underserved communities.

"The Cleveland Foundation has long been a community leader and catalyst for meaningful change in our region," said Pacetti. " I am thrilled to join this work at a pivotal moment in the region’s development, and further the foundation’s mission to improve lives today while keeping in mind long-term, generational impact.”

Carpenter, Senior Vice President and Regional Director of Community Philanthropy and Engagement at Huntington National Bank, joined the Cleveland Foundation’s board in 2015. In the last decade, she held several leadership positions, including serving as Vice Chair. She played a key role during a period of historic transition, including the foundation’s move to its new headquarters in MidTown and Hough.

“Carrie’s leadership has been nothing short of transformational,” said Kuri. “She has brought vision, empathy and a deep commitment to community that helped shape the foundation during a pivotal time in our history. Whether navigating big decisions or building connections behind the scenes, Carrie has always led with purpose and generosity. Her legacy will be felt for years to come.”

Among her community work, Carpenter serves as Board President for E. 66thStreet Services Inc. and Vice Chair of the Cleveland Public Market Corporation, the nonprofit transforming the West Side Market. Carpenter held past leadership roles with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Cleveland Public Theatre, and the Gordon Square Arts District, reflecting her enduring commitment to civic life in Northeast Ohio.
