Scholarship Descriptions

Cleveland Foundation scholarships:

• ALCOA Fund Scholarship – For Cleveland Metropolitan School District or Greater Cleveland Catholic high school seniors or graduates (NOTE: Suspended for 2010-11 academic year)
  
• Charlotte Alexander Scholarship – For residents of Cleveland or its inner-ring suburbs to continue education above the eighth-grade level
  
• Association of Asian Indian Women in Ohio Scholarship – For high school seniors of Asian Indian descent
  
• Leonard A. and Helen Russell Bretschneider Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Solon High School
  
• Kathy Brooks Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Ashton High School
  
• Judge Lillian W. Burke Scholarship – For students attending the Cleveland State University John Marshall College of Law
  
• Byrne-Rubin Family Trust Scholarship – For a graduating senior from Glenville High School
  
• Roy W. and Wilma Cade Scholarship – For graduating seniors in Greater Cleveland committed to studies applicable to a major in the Christian ministry
  
• Wilma Chapman Scholarship Fund – For persons with mental challenges who aspire to college/university course work
  
• The Cleveland Foundation Scholarship Selection and Advisory Committee Scholarship – For populations underserved or underrepresented in higher education programs
  
• Cleveland Women's City Club Foundation Scholarship – For female graduates of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
  
• Cleveland Women's City Club Foundation YWCA Scholarship – For female high school graduates (or GED recipients) who are aging out of the foster care system
  
• Vince Federico Memorial Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Wickliffe High School
  
• Gates Scholarship in Memory of Ada Gates Stevens – For graduating seniors from Elyria High School
  
• Albert W. Geater Memorial Scholarship – For Northeast Ohio students studying accounting
  
• Robert E. and Ada Hagan Public Service Scholarship – For students attending or accepted to the Cleveland State University Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs who are pursuing a career in public service
  
• Timothy Allen Hopkins Memorial Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Triway High School
  
• K.W. Horth Scholarship – For employees, retirees, and dependents of employees and retirees of Acme Construction Company
  
• Judge Leo A. and Mrs. Gilberta Jackson Justice and Integrity Scholarship – For students at Morehouse College, Florida A&M University, or Spelman College who are interested in a career that will prepare them for public/community service (NOTE: For the 2010-11 academic year, applications will be accepted from Spelman College students only.)
  
• Ruth Alice Jacobs Roe Memorial Scholarship – For a member of St. Clair Memorial Hospital's nursing staff who is interested in pursuing additional nursing education; also for a college junior or senior pursuing a nursing career
  
• Rev. A. William Jamerson Memorial Scholarship – For persons who reside in the city of Cleveland or one of its bordering suburbs who plan to enroll in an accredited college or university
  
• Robert D. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund – For members and retirees (or their children) of Communications Workers of America (CWA) - District 4
  
• Stephanie Tubbs Jones Memorial Scholarship – For graduating seniors from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
  
• Virginia Jones Memorial Scholarship – For graduating female students from Shaw High School (must rank in top 5 percent of class)
  
• Miriam Kerruish Stage Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Shaker Heights High School
  
• Alton LaMaur Character Memorial Scholarship – For college-bound graduating seniors from Collinwood High School
  
• Jon Lewis Annual Award – For a graduating senior from Cleveland Heights High School
  
• Robert P. Madison Scholarship in Architecture – For African-American high school students and undergraduates enrolled in coursework at an accredited school of architecture
  
• Diane O. McDaniel Scholarship – For a college-bound graduating senior from Glenville High School
  
• Rev. Dr. Marvin A. McMickle Scholarship – For high school seniors pursuing community service-based college degrees who are also residents of the cities of Bedford, Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, University Heights, East Cleveland, Garfield Heights, Lakewood, Maple Heights, Warrensville Heights, Euclid, South Euclid or Shaker Heights
  
• Paul and Kathrine Miller Scholarship – For a graduating senior from Berkshire or Cardinal high schools
  
• A. Grace Lee Mims Vocal Scholarship – For African-American vocal students pursuing graduate-level study in vocal performance or music education (with an emphasis on voice), and interested in preserving the art form of Negro spiritual singing
  
• Arthur P. and Ruth H. Moebius Scholarship – For graduates of Aurora High School
  
• J. Paris Mosley Scholarship – For high school seniors who are deaf or hard of hearing
  
• Northwest Emergency Team Fund Scholarship – For children of police officers, firefighters and paramedics (first responders) in the cities of Bay Village, North Olmsted, Westlake, Lakewood, Rocky River and Fairview Park
  
• John F. Oberlin and John C. Oberlin Fund Scholarship – For students majoring in law at the Case Western Reserve University Franklin Thomas Backus School of Law
  
• Ohio Laborers Future Leaders of America Scholarship – For children of active members in good standing of Laborers' District Council of Ohio
  
• Derek Owens Memorial Scholarship – For graduating seniors (or those who have graduated in the past year) residing in the Cleveland Police Department's 4th District
  
• Nelson G. Peck, Jr. Memorial Scholarship – For a freshman at Ohio University or Cuyahoga Community College majoring in engineering
  
• Perlman Family Foundation Scholarship – For graduating high school seniors who currently reside at a property managed by PK Management Company
  
• Lt. (JG) Donald Richard Powers Memorial Scholarship – For a graduating senior at Wynford High School in Bucyrus, Ohio
  
• Florence Mackey Pritchard and P.J. Pritchard Scholarship – For students from Greater Cleveland, with preference to those attending Huron School of Nursing or Berea College in Kentucky
  
• Robin and Metalworks Employees' Educational Resource Fund Scholarship – For employees and family members of Robin Industries, Inc. and Metalworks
  
• Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation Scholarship – For graduating seniors from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District aspiring to a career in the music industry.
  
• Anna M. Roth Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Brush High School, with preference given to students entering the field of education
  
• Jack Rumbaugh Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Shaker Heights High School
  
• Christina Sunga Ryook Scholarship – For Westlake High School graduates who will be attending the University of Michigan
  
• Alzada Singleton Davis Scholarship – For an African-American female sophomore at Cuyahoga Community College’s Metropolitan Campus who has demonstrated academic excellence in the humanities (excluding education or physical sciences) and is matriculating to an upper-division college or university
  
• Terry M. Speth Service Professional Memorial Scholarship – For students pursuing a career in diagnostic imaging
  
• Harriet B. Storrs Scholarship – For residents of Painesville or Painesville Township, Ohio
  
• Sullivan Scholars Foundation – For children in Northeast Ohio, primarily for K-12 education
  
• Superintendent's Award from the Inez and Harry Clement Fund – For one or more graduating seniors of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
  
• Tri-Vantage, LLC Scholarship – For children or grandchildren of Tri-Vantage, LLC employees 
  
• Cydney Weingart Scholarship – For public high school juniors, seniors or graduates (within one year)
  
• Charles D. Whitmer Fund Scholarship – For residents of Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake or Geauga counties who are willing to work, save and pay for a portion of their educational expenses, and who show a significant degree of self-motivation
  
• Women's Civic Club of Cleveland Heights Scholarship – For graduating seniors from Cleveland Heights High School
