Roll out the red carpet for MANChild: March 23rd @ 6:30 p.m.

Lights. Camera. Action!

Join us on March 23 for the Cleveland premiere of the film MANChild, written by Cleveland MLK high school student, Earlaina Kemp and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (yes, the writer/director of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story).

Last year, nearly 1,000 Cleveland-area students submitted scripts to the Scenarios USA “What’s the Real Deal with Masculinity?” contest.  Earlaina’s winning entry, which features local actors and is set in our very own Cleveland neighborhoods, follows one high school student as he defines for himself what it means to become a man. The Cleveland Foundation, in cooperation with our partners, is pleased to be a strong supporter of this program.

In addition to seeing the Cleveland-written/filmed/produced MANChild, March 23 is your chance to catch films written by teens in Texas and New York.  After the movie, Earlaina Kemp will there to share the inside scoop on how she wrote her scripts and brought the story to life.
