A message to our nonprofit partners

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have entered uncharted territory for the Greater Cleveland community. As we navigate this difficult time together, the Cleveland Foundation is here to support our partner organizations across Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.

In addition to our support through the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund, we are still accepting grant inquiries through our Grants Gateway portal.

  • For current grantees, if you need flexibility to support current operations, please contact us to request a change of programmatic funding to operating support.
  • For organizations that have had to cancel events, you may repurpose grant funding we have made in support of those events.
  • We will expedite grant approvals, and we have streamlined the grant application process during this time of critical need. Certain grants will still need to go to our board on a quarterly basis, though some exceptions may apply.
  • We will suspend grantee reporting requirements until a future date to be determined.

At this time, we will not be accepting grant inquiries for new organizations, capital requests, sponsorships, travel or events. However, you may be eligible to apply for a grant from the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.

We recommend reaching out to one of our program directors or program officers for assistance or any questions you may have.

The entire Cleveland Foundation staff value the work you do in our community to serve those most in need. We want you to know that we are with you during this uncertain and challenging time in our community’s history.

Sincerely,

India Pierce Lee

Senior Vice President, Program
