#NationalVolunteerWeek: Celebrating the Power of Volunteerism

It’s National Volunteer Week, an opportunity to celebrate the individual and collective power of volunteerism in communities across the country! Did you know? According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, nearly 63 million Americans gave 7.8 billion hours of volunteer service worth an estimated $184 billion in the past year alone. Here in Cleveland, we’re proud to partner with a number of organizations and initiatives that promote volunteerism – and many that rely on the power of volunteers to make an impact.

National Volunteer Week is a great time to think about ways you can give back through service. Don’t know where to start? We have a few ideas!

Become a Mentor

The True2U initiative of our MyCom program is seeking mentors for 8th grade Cleveland Metropolitan School District students. As positive role models, True2U mentors support students as they explore their purpose, identify their strengths and set personal goals for success – with a focus on career-readiness. Watch a short video about the program, and learn how to apply here.
