Cleveland Foundation to host community conversation events in Lake and Geauga counties

Events to be held on April 21 at Mentor Public Library and April 27 at Kent State University Geauga Campus

RELEASE DATE: 04.12.2016

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Foundation will host two events in its Fred Talks community engagement series that will focus on its support in Lake and Geauga counties. For 25 years, the Cleveland Foundation has worked with donors to enhance the lives of residents in Lake and Geauga counties, providing a total of more than $32.8 million in grants. In December 2015, the foundation’s board of directors reiterated its commitment to Lake and Geauga counties by approving an enhanced process for grantmaking across the foundation’s entire three-county footprint.

Aimed at sharing information about this expanded grantmaking and gathering feedback from attendees about community needs, the events will feature a conversation with leaders from the Cleveland Foundation followed by a public Q&A session and facilitated brainstorming roundtables. During the roundtables, attendees will be invited to define community priorities to help inform decisions by the foundation.

The events are part of the Cleveland Foundation’s Fred Talks series, which are quarterly events that invite the community to listen, engage and contribute in conversation with local and national thought leaders. The Fred Talks are named in honor of the visionary creativity of Cleveland Foundation founder Frederick Harris Goff. Both events are free and open to the public, but registration is required. To register, visit https://www.clevelandfoundation.org/fredtalks or call (216) 615-7253.
